The British Columbia Association for Living Mindfully (BCALM) is a non profit society dedicated to facilitating increased mindfulness and reduced stress in homes, schools and workplaces throughout BC.
Based in beautiful Victoria, BC, and collaborating with physicians, mindfulness facilitators, educators and researchers throughout the province, we offer classes, workshops and retreats in meditation and mindfulness based stress reduction and management for children, youth and adults.
Our programs and research focus upon the health benefits of mindful awareness, compassion, and acceptance. These skills allow participants to better navigate common challenges such as depression, anxiety, chronic pain and chronic disease.
Our team of facilitators and members at BCALM are passionate and dedicated to mindfulness based stress management and are available to present to your organization, school, or workplace on the effects of stress and the benefits of mindfulness, meditation and other stress management techniques.
An Introduction to Mindfulness (1.5 hour presentation)
This 1.5 hr presentation offers a background in the philosophy and practice of mindfulness and meditation as well as the benefits on stress management and wellness. Introductory concepts of acceptance, non-attachment, compassion and non-judgement are reviewed and the body scan and mindfulness meditation are introduced.
