Corporate/Community Art of Living Mindfully
BCalm is pleased to offer an 8-week mindfulness based stress management course called CALM, for workplaces.
If you would like to bring in a facilitator, either in-person or virtually, to provide an 8-week (90 minutes per week) mindfulness course for your employees, CALM (Corporate/Community Art of Living Mindfully) is what we have to offer.
This course provides a theoretical overview of mindfulness, meditation, and stress management with a focus on experiencing and practicing Mindfulness Meditation. (The doing rather than studying of Meditation.) Home meditation practice is a major component of this course in order to embody the concepts learned and to apply them into life.
In addition, the program will pay special attention to the first Foundation of Mindfulness–Mindfulness of the Body as it relates to the body’s response to stress. This ‘felt sense’ of body sensations enriches our experience of the here and now and is paramount to regulating the nervous system and calming and soothing ourselves.
You will learn to cultivate wholesome states of mind and develop resilience and practical tools to manage these challenging times.
CALM is facilitated by psychotherapists/meditation instructors who integrate mind-body modalities in their approach, and is ideally suited for individuals wanting to develop the practice and skills of Mindfulness. The practice of Mindfulness is well known and documented to help alleviate physical and emotional stress responses and promote well-being.
The CALM program cultivates an environment of mutual respect, confidentiality, and mindful presence. We ask participants to honour this intention when the facilitator or participants are speaking and during silent practices.
CALM provides the identical content to the ALM course that is offered to the community through medical referrals. Our workplace program, CALM, is presented by mindfulness facilitators who have practiced and taught these valuable skills for many years. It is not billable to MSP and therefore is fee-for-service.

Please note that CALM is a mindfulness based stress management program. It is not intended as a therapy group and should not be seen as a replacement for treating anxiety or depression. This group is should not involve individuals that suffer from severe mental health conditions or substance abuse issues.
